Dr. William J. Flynn received his undergraduate training at the University of Florida and his medical degree from the University of Miami. Following the completion of his Internal Medicine training in Orlando, he and his lovely wife Mrs. Flynn moved to the Panhandle of Florida to call home and start a family and a medical practice. They now have two daughters, Nicole and Victoria, and have been in practice since 1988. Some of his professional achievements include being former Chief of Staff and Chairman of Credentials Committee for Bay Medical Center, also being elected Fellow by The American College of Physicians. During his off hours he enjoys photography, his dogs Bella and Amber, and exploring the bayous of North Bay on his jetski.

My name is Heather Hunter, and I’m so excited to introduce myself as the new Family Nurse Practitioner joining Dr. William J. Flynn’s Internal Medicine Practice here in Panama City, FL!

I’ve been practicing for 4 years, and my passion for internal medicine comes from wanting to help my patients improve their quality of life. My care philosophy is all about building strong relationships — taking the time to listen, connect, and create treatment plans that make sense for each individual. I believe in a holistic approach, encouraging lifestyle changes whenever possible before turning to medications. My goal is for every patient to feel heard, supported, and confident in their care.​

Family Nurse Practitioner

​Charly Barker, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in internal medicine, primary care, urgent care, occupational health, chronic disease management, and hospital-based care as a nurse practitioner. Her clinical background also includes bedside nursing experience in skilled nursing, pulmonary/progressive care, and intensive care, giving her a well-rounded foundation in both acute and long-term patient care.

Charly is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care through thorough assessments, individualized treatment plans, preventive health, and clear patient education. She strives to help patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their health decisions. Outside of the clinic, Charly enjoys life with her husband, their blended family of six children, and their birds. She enjoys spending time with family, caring for her birds, and practicing Qigong. Her full family life and personal wellness practices help her bring warmth, balance, and real-world understanding to the care she provides.
